Holiday lodge receives funding

Disability Action Yorkshire has received £1,500 funding from The Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation to support the purchase of accessible fixtures and fittings at our new Holiday Lodge.

 

Features will include tracked hoists, profiling beds, wet room and a kitchen with rise and fall units, hob and sink.

 

The site is at Kenwick Woods which has great facilities on site and is in a good situation for things to see and visit in the local area.  For more information on the site visit www.kenwickwoods.com

 

Thank You to the Nidderdale Messiah!

We were thrilled to be presented with a cheque for £4,000 from John Hodgson, Chair of the Nidderdale Messiah.  John came along to 34 Claro Road, our residential home, to present the cheque to Caroline, one of our service users, on 10 January.  This was the proceeds from the magnificent Nidderdale Messiah held in November 2011 at Birstwith church. Happy New Year

Our Head Office has now reopened after the winter break along with the Furniture Enterprise showroom.

Listening Line

Today we have launched our Listening Line.  This is a dedicated phone line where users of our services, or those supporting them, can ring if they want to talk to someone confidentially about any of our services.

If callers are ringing about abuse or suspected abuse they will be directed to the relevant Safeguarding Team, if they feel unable to make that call themselves we will put the referral system immediately in place. Continue Reading
