Accessibility

Disability Action Yorkshire is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

Accessible For All

We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility. In the meantime should you experience any difficulty in accessing the Disability Action Yorkshire website, please don’t hesitate call us on 01423 855 410 or contact us.

Disability Action Yorkshire are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.

This website endeavours to conform to level Double-A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.

This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.

Whilst Disability Action Yorkshire strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.

In addition to the accessibility measures that we have included on this website, most web browsers will usually allow you to adjust the way in which web pages are displayed. Please see your browser’s help features for more information or please click on the following http://www.bbc.co.uk/accessibility/guides/text_larger/browser/

If you find a problem on any page, or you require any information on this website in an alternative format or language, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Text and Links

If you need to make the web page text bigger, this guide from BBC can show you how. We have also made sure our links across the website are clear, making sure  we use link text that describes where the link is taking you to.

Colours
On our website we endeavor to make the words on our pages easy to read, however we know that some people have trouble with reading text on certain colours. This is why we have a ‘switch colours’ option on our website. You can find this on the top right hand corner of the screen, underneath ‘donate’ and next to ‘accessibility’.
