Could you be our next Chair?

by Jackie Snape

Our well respected Chair, Martyn Weller, is standing down after seven years of valued service. We are now looking for an exceptional individual to succeed him in leading the Board of Trustees to drive our charity forward as we face new and exciting challenges. Working closely with the Chief Executive, the new Chair will play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic agenda.

We are a long established charity, based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, which currently provides a number of services for disabled people including residential care with training for independent living, training in the skills required for employment linked to a thriving social enterprise and holiday accommodation.

We are now at a position where we want to change from an organisation that fits people into existing services to one that asks what it is that disabled people want and then finds the ways to help them achieve that.

The successful candidate will have Board or senior level expertise gained in either a voluntary sector, commercial or public environment and will be able to demonstrate inspirational leadership along with a deep understanding of strategic management and organisational governance. Above all, they will be passionate about the quality of service and support for service users.

To find out more please read our appointment brief  Appt Brief  or to have a confidential discussion about the role, please contact our Chief Executive, Jackie Snape on or 01423 855413.

Closing date for applications 29 February 2016
