We are expanding the areas in which we operate and are keen to meet demand in more rural locations. Due to the nature of many rural roads we require a suitable vehicle to offer a full service throughout the winter months. The team requires two new vehicles with four wheel drive systems which can cope with extreme weather conditions and remote locations. Care workers are required in rural locations to support the disabled people using our services. To enable us in the recruitment process of quality care workers and avoid unnecessary travel we require a “Mobile Office” which we can use for interviewing staff and supporting new clients where they live. Furniture Enterprise Our Furniture Enterprise opened to the public in November 2011. Since then the scheme has grown to offer a unique Commission based sales service to the general public. Selling quality used furniture in our show room on behalf of customers. We require a “Refurbishment Workshop” to repair and refresh furniture which comes into the enterprise and a Heavy Goods vehicle with a tail-lift to cater for larger items of furniture. When we take items into our scheme we are reduce land-fill waste and provide a new life to pre-used furniture. Fundraising Target: £68,000 Raised: £0
‘Living Skills” Project The “Living Skills Project” aims to make support service users at Claro Road learn vital skills to live independently. We aim to support the development of new skills in independent living such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting and a healthy lifestyle. We are currently seeking a new laundry facility to support service users to wash and dry their own clothes and bedding. Fundraising Target: £3,000 Raised: £200

‘Swim Active’ Project The “Swim Active Project” aims to provide improved access to local swimming for physically disabled people. Offering a mobile hoist and change table in the accessible change facilities of the local swimming facility at The Hydro,Harrogate. This project will enable disabled people to try a new activity, helping their mobility and general well-being. It will be supported by local volunteers to ensure costs are kept to a minimum whilst increasing physical activity opportunities. The project will work in partnership with the local Harrogate Borough Council leisure department and North Yorkshire Sport to engage local volunteers to support disabled users and develop new coaching skills. ‘Holiday Lodge’ Project The ‘Holiday Lodge’ project aims to provide a fully equiped Holiday Lodge. Accomodation will be fitted with specialist equipment in the kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms for physically disabled people. We would like to install height-adjustable kitchen worktops, which can be lowered to any height, as well as movable units and accessible appliances. Bedroom furniture including profiling beds and ceiling hoists in both twin and single rooms. Bathroom accomodation comprising of a wheel in wet room with ceiling hoist, electric shower chair and accessible bath. Once the equipment has been installed, bookings can be taken for a group or family to enjoy an weekend break of week in home-like comfort.
